About Lauren

Lauren van der Mast is a shining and leading light in the health and fitness industry, teaching others how to get the most out of their training and how to free themselves from mental and emotional blocks so they can let their true colours Shine!

Lauren was a passionate and very active child. Her love of sports began with soccer, dirt bike riding, karate and pro wrestling. Growing up in a house bordering the bush, Lauren also developed a natural affinity for the great outdoors.

Even as young as a toddler, Lauren always struggled with anxiety and at 15 years of age, after suffering abuse, she developed depression, an eating disorder (binge eating) and her days were filled with thoughts of suicide. Despite all of this, at 18 years of age, Lauren discovered her passion for rock climbing. Wanting to be ‘one of the best’ from day one she entered the world of calorie counting and discipline to hide the binge eating, control her weight and literally climb her way right into 3rd Australian Female Rock Climber.

During this time, Lauren learned how to refine her strength and fitness training and also how to train her mind for success on the rock face and so she went on to become a Personal Trainer to help others make the most out of their time at the gym and succeed with their sport and fitness goals.

Unfortunately discipline wears thin and Lauren couldn’t hide the depression and binge eating any longer and after years of fighting her body she developed Chronic Fatigue. Not one to ever give up, especially with her love of training and sports she kept looking for a solution.

Through Coaching, Lauren discovered the roots underlying the suicidal thoughts, depression and binge eating and healed herself from them within a week! Using this technique, Lauren never had to minimize herself to discipline or calorie counting again! She discovered how to be successful without fighting her body – but rather through loving it and working WITH her body.

Shortly after, Lauren met and married the man of her dreams and birthed her gorgeous son at home in the water, straight into her own hands! When her son was 10 months old, she began training in Jiu Jitsu with her husband and a year later, despite only being able to train 1 -2 times a week (around the chronic fatigued), she placed 2nd at the World Cup.

Still looking for answers to her Chronic Fatigue, she discovered and eliminated many health triggers and also discovered even more ways to train smarter – significantly reducing her training and still maintaining results.

While Lauren is not 100% Chronic Fatigue free, she is well on the mend – but is now an amazing wealth of knowledge when it comes to training athletes and those interested in health and weight loss. She knows how to train in such a way that you are literally working WITH your body, learning how to cut out the B.S. exercises so that your results far out weight the effort (aka super bang for your buck). She teaches you how to listen to your body, get stronger from the inside out, decrease fatigue, improve recovery, decrease chances of injury (or speed up recovery if already injured), skip any plateaus and actually experience an amazing relationship with your body – one that leads to amazing health and fitness results like never before! Without EVER having to rely on discipline! She really knows and teaches how to Be Free and Shine!
